This Emergency Oxygen Delivery training course has been designed for those with an occupational requirement to respond to a medical emergency at work. This training will focus on the knowledge and skills necessary for a workplace first aid attendant to safely integrate the use of an oxygen delivery system during emergency patient care.

This training course is intended for use by certified first aid attendants that have previous workplace experience responding to worker emergencies.

This Emergency Oxygen Delivery course will also establish an understanding of the statutory requirements of the federal COHS, Provincial and Territorial OH&S legislations.

We will achieve these objectives through discussion and by participating in skills based practice using oxygen delivery equipment.

This course will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge regarding:

• Priority of Personal Safety and the Hazards Associated with the use of Emergency Oxygen.
• Recognize where Emergency Oxygen will be Beneficial.
• The Patient Management Model.
• Attaching and Operating Pulse Oximetry.
• Practice Safe Handling Techniques when using Emergency Oxygen Equipment;
  • Oxygen Cylinders,
  • Oxygen Regulators,
  • Oxygen Delivery Devices.
• Integrating and Administering Emergency Oxygen to Breathing and Non-breathing Patients.
