Technician-level Skills & Team Response

The focus of this 4 day program builds upon the core skills learned in the OH&S Confined Space Rescue Basics plus SCBA course, and provides the additional individual skill requirements of NFPA 1670 (Confined Space Technician Level).

Technician-level skills and team response capabilities will be enhanced by hands-on teaching stations and realistic problem-solving exercises, including on-air, simulated IDLH scenarios.

The Confined Space Rescue NFPA 1670 Technician-level skills and team response course will provide the information used to establish an industrial confined space rescue response and the training that is needed to prepare individuals
to implement rescue operations. It takes a mix of prevention, planning, preparation, training and communications to create and sustain an effective Confined Space Rescue response.

By the end of this Confined Space Rescue course you will be able to understand the following confined space rescue practices:

• Site Operations,
• Incident Assessment,
• Identify IDLH Environment,
• Hazard Management Isolation and Control of Hazards,
• Scene Safety and Identification,
• Ropes and Rigging.
• The need for Transition of Victim to EHS Patient Care.
• The need to use Air Supply Respirator (SCBA / SABA).
• The need to Secure the Scene
  • Should something go terribly wrong, you will know how to effect a Confined Space Rescue.
